The Fusiliers’ Museum- in Wellington Barracks, Bury, is nearing the end of its life. It is old fashioned and the conditions are poor for the museum collection and for visitors. In order to secure its future the museum now needs to develop, become more appealing to visitors, offer educational activities and be more financially independent. A new home has been found - The Arts and Crafts Centre, in the heart of Bury - which is ideal for this development. It will be accessible to visitors, renew the Regiment’s association with the town, and provide space for the collections of both the Lancashire Fusiliers and the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. The development project will cost £3million.

We have now made a successful bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund for £2 million and a futher £1.3 million now has to be raised in match funding. Every contribution counts, so please be generous and help the museum to achieve its goal.
